Please go read the blogs on this site http://www.everythinghaitian.com/Blogs/BlogDetail.aspx?BID=613&PID=2138 People, google earth Jacmel, Haiti (Airport) you will see the tarmac strip flatland. There is another Military landing field right in the corner of Boulevard Jean-Jacque Dessalines and Route de Delmas. There is an Airport in Jacmel, Haiti which the foreign aid teams can use as a secondary location to land. By the way, why have the news media not mention of Jacmel, Haiti which was hit as well by the Earthquake.
I am in the Military. A C-130 can land at the Jacmel airport with such ease. Do not worry, I pushed for it and now it is being used. For C-130s there is something called "Combat Landing" they are known for and which they have in worser conditions. Trust me, I am an Iraq vet!
